National Center for Asphalt Technology

The NAPA Research and Education Foundation (NAPAREF) helped establish the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) at Auburn University in Alabama as a focal point for asphalt research and technology. The NCAT test track and laboratory make NCAT the industry's premiere research facility. NCAT also offers professor training to ensure that the latest information is offered in university courses across the country and abroad.

State Asphalt Pavement Associations

The state asphalt pavement associations (SAPAs)—organizations that are independent from NAPA—represent the asphalt pavement industry in certain states with programs in technology transfer, education, and training. The Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA) is a coalition of the Asphalt Institute, NAPA, and the State Asphalt Pavement Associations. The APA's mission is to establish asphalt pavement as the preferred pavement choice for quality, performance, and the environment.
